This is the one that Robin Hood used to hide in, apparently. That always stuck me as odd – picking the biggest tree in the forest and using that. Not very subtle really 
It has seen better days (800 years old or more) and is held up with various poles and wires and a fence to stop anyone going anywhere neer it.
This little baby is a cash cow for the local economy so they don’t want anything bad happening to it
I had resisted taking a photo of this for a long time but wandered past this morning early enough to miss the crowds. There were a few old folks sat having a rest and one of the rangers wandered past, picking up all the litter that the scummy people leave behind (no offence meant to the people who put litter in bins – but the people that just chuck it on the floor – you are scum.)
